Nerina has a group of committed and passionate volunteer patrollers who, patrol the Neighborhood of Nerina on a rotational basis to observe and report any suspicious activity with the support of SAPS, the Northern Suburbs 2 Way Radio System and Armed Response Companies.
The goal of the patrollers is to observe and report, patrollers are not a peace officers thus they do not engage in the investigation or capture of suspects.
Patrollers offer up 2 hour a month to doing patrols at night and in the day, they also attend scheduled Special Operations hosted by the local Sector Police 6 times a year.
The Sector Police host training sessions that all patrollers are encouraged to attend to enhance their skills as Neighbourhood Patrollers.
